AICP has extended the deadline for the 2026 Camp Kuleshov (Camp K) trailer competition to September 25th, giving emerging editors, sound designers, composers, and graphic artists a little extra time to submit their work.
For those unfamiliar, Camp K challenges rising post-production talent to reimagine existing films in bold new ways. Editors transform a film into a trailer for a different genre entirely, sound designers reinterpret a scene, composers score a piece that never had music, and graphic artists craft opening title sequences for films that never had one.
The competition runs regionally (East/Southeast, Midwest, West/Southwest), with regional winners advancing to compete for The Lev, the grand prize named for pioneering film theorist Lev Kuleshov. Lev winners take home a trophy, bragging rights, and gift cards from AICP Partner Musicbed + Filmsupply worth $1,500 total and will be honored at the AICP Awards in Chicago on November 19th.
Camp K is open to editorial and audio assistants, junior graphic artists, junior creatives, admin assistants, and staff at AICP and AMP member companies, as well as students and interns actively engaged with a member company. Entrants can also get paired with an experienced coach from a different region to help refine their piece along the way.
With the extra week now on the clock, there's no better time to dive into this year's film list and get an entry in before the new September 25th deadline.
