AICP was proud to co-sponsor the 2026 Congressional Breakfast hosted by the Valley Industry & Commerce Association (VICA), bringing together business leaders, policymakers, and community stakeholders for a discussion of federal issues impacting the San Fernando Valley and the broader Los Angeles region.
This year's program featured remarks and discussions with U.S. Representatives Laura Friedman (D-Glendale), Luz Rivas (D-North Hollywood), and Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks), who addressed a range of topics affecting California's economy, workforce, transportation infrastructure, housing, and federal budget priorities.
The event provided AICP with another valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with members of California's congressional delegation and engage directly on issues affecting the commercial production industry. As production continues to face increasing competition from other states and countries, maintaining an ongoing dialogue with federal, state, and local policymakers remains an important part of AICP's advocacy efforts.
Rep. Friedman, whose district includes many film studios, discussed her ongoing work with Senator Adam Schiff to develop federal legislation establishing a national film and television production tax incentive, an effort that AICP is closely monitoring as Congress explores ways to strengthen domestic production and support keeping jobs in the U.S.
