Andrew Stern is the Founder & CEO of Be Electric Studios, one of New York City’s leading independent production campuses and a pioneer in virtual production and in-camera visual effects (ICVFX). Since founding Be Electric in 2014, he has helped build the company into a major hub for the photo, film, television, advertising, and branded content industries.
Under his leadership, Be Electric launched one of New York’s first permanent LED virtual production stages in 2022 and expanded its virtual production footprint in 2025 with a second advanced VP facility in Long Island City. Be Electric’s VP division has supported dozens of commercial, branded content, music video, and narrative productions integrating real-time workflows and emerging AI-driven production tools.
Stern previously served for four years as Co-President of the Production Initiatives Association (PIA) and now serves on its Executive Board. In 2025, PIA helped secure a landmark expansion of New York’s film and television tax credit program, helping bring production work back to New York.
He is also a Co-Founder of the Coalition for American Production (CAP), a national advocacy organization working to establish a federal production incentive aimed at bringing film and television production back to the United States.
